Rev. Micaiah Hill (1790–1849)
Rev. Micaiah Hill was the first representative of the London Missionary Society at this mission station in India. With support from Christian colleagues, he played a significant role in establishing a place of worship in the region. He constructed a chapel, where he served faithfully as a minister, sharing his faith and values with others.

Known for his dedication and perseverance, Rev. Hill worked throughout the year to share his religious teachings and offer guidance to those around him. He arrived in Bengal in March 1822 and continued his mission for nearly three decades. He passed away on the 3rd of February, 1849, near Benares (Varanasi), at the age of 59.

His legacy is remembered for his lifelong commitment to service, education, and community building.

Rev. S. J. Hill (1825–1891)
Rev. S. J. Hill was a dedicated missionary associated with the London Missionary Society, known for his lifelong commitment to education, service, and spiritual guidance. His European friends remembered him fondly for his gentleness, goodness, and the usefulness of his life. Over a span of thirty-eight years, he worked among people from all sections of the community, fostering connection and service. A significant part of his work was based in Berhampore, where he made lasting contributions to the social and spiritual fabric of the area. He was born on December 22, 1825, and passed away on January 20, 1891. His memory endures through the impact he made during a lifetime of sincere service.
